National landscape Hoeksche Waard

Hoeksche Waard - paarden Mariapolder The Hoeksche Waard is one of the twenty National Landscapes in the Netherlands. An extraordinary region, resulting from the combination of natural and cultural-historical elements. An open landscape with fields and creeks, dikes paralleled by long rows of trees, historic farms and windmills, an extensive network of cycle paths and unique nature reserves including Tiengemeten island and the mud flats outside the dikes.
