The region of South-Holland South consists of the Hoeksche Waard from Zuid-Beijerland to 's Gravendeel to the south of Rotterdam and the Drechtsteden region with Dordrecht as the centre. It also extends to the Alblasserwaard and Vijfheerenlanden from Papendrecht to Vianen, enclosed by the Lek river to the north and the Merwede river to the south.
