Schelluinen
The friendly village of Schelluinen lies wedged between Gorinchem and Giessenburg. Although it lies in the immediate vicinity of a busy main road, it has kept its dreamy character. Together with Arkel, Giessenburg, Giessen-Oudekerk, Hoornaar, Hoog-Blokland and Noordeloos, Schelluinen forms the municipality of Giessenlanden.
Near Schelluinen, between the Kanaal van Steenenhoek and the river Merwede lies the nature reserve De Dordtse Avelingen. In this nature reserve outside the dike there are footpaths which pass willows, reeds and meadowlands.
